Adventures Await

Sweet friends- I posted this on my social media channels this last May and thought I would share it here with you as many were encouraged from this share.

With an early morning rise, I tackled a new terrain this morning as I venture into life as a professional artist and writer through D-lightful Doodles. It has been many years since I have worn this hat as a freelance occupation since earning a BFA in Visual Communications. Like many, this is a season of change and new beginnings. As a trained fitness professional, I have taught Pilates, Aqua fitness, Barre, etc for eighteen years. In September of this year, however, I injured myself and now I am recovering from ankle surgery on my right foot and trying to avoid a potential surgery on the left!  Am I petrified? Yes! Do I have doubt? Yes! Am I technically challenged? Yes!  But with Gods’s strength and guidance,  I surrender! I am walking by faith and not by sight. I choose to plant in this promise. I hope to return to teaching again but I am hope-filled in the Lord’s guidance as I plan to create pieces of art that blend, prayers, scripture, fun doodles, faith, hope and love. Shortly after my son  Grant died, my dear friend Missi with Giggleboxcalled me and encouraged me to create and heal. She planted a seed of hope that our Heavenly Father could bring restoration to my crushed and broken heart. I am so thankful for that phone call as it changed the way I framed my thinking about my recovery process and it was a life-changing moment. Doing anything creative was the last thing on my mind but as time carried on, I began to feel the urge to journal to Jesus and take every emotion to him. The good, bad, and at times even the ugly. Whatever life storm that you are facing, I am here to encourage you to not lose Heavenly hope! God loves you and has plans for you even in the midst of your trial. You are in my thoughts.
