Pillow Pizazz

Friends – One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to work on decorating projects. I was wanting the living room to feel lighter, brighter, and less traditional. Casey McGarr and I have much of our bright and colorful artwork hanging In our home so I was looking for ways to Introduce these colors Into our living room and thus I decided that pillows would be a great solution to my dilemma. In college, I learned about the importance of having an inspirational piece of artwork to assist in building your color story so I chose “At the Cafe”. I love how this painting reminds me to gather people In my home. It was a commission piece that I created for a client nearly 25 years ago. I especially liked the idea of introducing more teal blue Into the room so I looked for a pillow that had that color In its pattern and then chose an accent pillow to tie it in. My daughter helped me pick a multi-colored geometric pillow and we introduced cream in a woven sweater fabric. All of our pillows were purchased for less than $50.00. The photo in the lower right shows our finished product. I’m happy with how everything turned out!
