Stop And Smell The Flowers

Snickers has always been such a sweet cat, and one of her favorite things to do is sniff flowers. She loves to take her little head and brush it next to the foliage. I caught her in action one morning and felt the urge to paint her. She gazed up at me with such innocence, knowing that she was not to be on top of the counter. I felt her smiling at me through her eyes, and so as I painted this piece, I wanted to make sure it would bring some gladness to everyone who saw it. Snickers was a gift to my daughter Ella from her brother, Grant, as he wanted her to have a kitty while he was away for several months. Thus, capturing her soft and tranquil essence through calming pinks and purples seemed to be a perfect fit for she has brought much comfort to our family. She reminds me to stop and smell the flowers and take in the small pleasures that life brings. I would love to hear how your animals help you to do the same. Hugs to you! Deana (Dee-na)
