Capturing The Joy Of Punkin

Hello friends- Punkin has a very colorful personality. One of his favorite things to do is lay across all of my papers as I drink my coffee and journal. He brings me much company each morning during my quiet time with the Lord, and often as I try to move him, he stays in his spot smiling and bathing in the heat of my writing lamp. I wanted to paint a piece that captured the joy that he has brought to us as he was a gift to my daughter after my son, Grant, passed away. Bright colors and lots of texture seemed to fit his one of a kind personality. Nothing was easy about creating this piece, and I have spent five months re-working his eyes, but every time I re-visited the painting, I felt so thankful for his presence in our lives as he has brought much comfort and healing to our hurting hearts.
