Praising The Creative Process
Sweet friends – I am a rule follower and I was trained as a fine artist with an emphasis in graphic design. There were ways to creating great art that I was suggested to follow. I found over time that these guidelines became barriers to creating and perfectionism crept in. Blending markers with acrylic paint was a “no, no” in art school. I would have been judged by some of the professors as an amateur artist to utilize such a mediocre product. However, we were meant to create as He created all things. When I make art I give God my glory! I use glue, markers, ballpoint pens, and doodle! The Lord is not judging the joy of connecting with Him by the medium I use. In Psalms 118:24, I am encouraged to rejoice in what the Lord has done and to be glad in it! Making art is a way that I give God the full glory for His goodness. He showed me in my quiet time that the end result is not as important as praising the creative process. Be encouraged today to journey to joy through creative expression! How do you use your talents as a way to connect with our creator? How does this bless you and others? What barriers need to be lifted for you to express your emotions through art and writing? I would love to hear about your creative process and what you are currently working on. You have been prayed for. You are a #daughteroftheking! Hugs💜D
